Meet the Author:

Roni wrote her first romance novel at age fifteen when she discovered writing about boys was way easier than actually talking to them. Since then, her flirting skills haven’t improved, but she likes to think her storytelling ability has. If she’s not working on her latest sexy story, you can find her cooking, watching reality television, or picking up another hobby she doesn't need--in other words, procrastinating like a boss. She is a RITA Award winner and a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author.

About the Book:

From the New York Times bestselling author of Off the Clock comes a story of love, hate, and the fire that ignites when the two collide...
Dr. Elle McCray has a plan. Work hard. Be the best. And do it alone. After her ex-husband’s betrayal, she’s learned being feared is a hell of a lot easier than being humiliated. So when trouble personified, Lane Cannon, dares to flirt with her, she shuts him down cold. Too gorgeous. Too cocky. And his job as The Grove’s sexual surrogate is to sleep with patients. No, thank you.
Former escort Lane Cannon has spent enough years with people looking down on him. Stupid. Trailer trash. Rent boy. He’s heard it all. He’s worked too hard to shed his past to let some haughty doctor cut him down. But something about Elle’s ice queen act has his dominant instincts perking up and his body taking notice. He can’t walk away.
After an evening of verbal sparring turns into a night of steamy hate sex, Lane’s ready for round two. But Elle proposes a business deal. How better to keep things strictly physical than to pay him for his services?
Lane wants her, not her money. But he’ll play along in exchange for one thing—all the control. It’s only supposed to be a dirty little fling between colleagues, but these two are about to learn a lesson in love…by the hour.

Elle picked up the phone with intentions of turning the ringer off, but before she could silence it, there was a sharp knock on her door. The interruption startled her and made her drop the still ringing phone onto the rug beneath her desk.
“Dammit.” Distracted, Elle called out for whoever it was to come in and then bent down to grab the phone and silence it. “If you want to talk to me, leave a freaking voicemail. I do have a job, you know.”
“I’m aware.”
The deep rumble of a voice had her head snapping up, and she promptly banged it on the underside of her desk. “Son of a bitch.
The ringing that had stopped with the phone started in her head. She rubbed the sore spot, and sat up to find Lane standing in her doorway with a white box in his hands and an unreadable expression.
“You okay?”
The spot on her head was throbbing but she gave a curt nod, not wanting to give him the satisfaction. “I’m fine. Why are you here?”
His signature smugness touched his lips. “Always such a warm welcome from you, McCray. I bet you worked your way through college as a greeter at Disney World. Am I right?”
“Yep. Wore the ears and everything,” she said, not missing a beat. “Now answer the question.”
Because the sooner he did that, the sooner she could get him out of here. Just seeing him leaning against her doorframe with that lazy, self-satisfied way of his had her mind replaying the scene from that night in her head. Only the highlight reel, of course. Not the ugly parts. Not the part where she ended up alone on her living room floor having a freak out. Her dirty mind was fantastic at editing out the stuff she was supposed to be focusing on.
He lifted the box. “I come bearing cupcakes.”
At first, all she heard was I come. Boy, did he. With sexy grunts and brute force. She shook the images from her head. God, she turned into a horny teenager when she was around this guy. Pack the hormones away, Elle. She cleared her throat. “Cupcakes?”
He opened the box and revealed eleven cupcakes with hideous bright pink frosting. “These got delivered to the wrong building on the wrong date, and I’m guessing with the wrong color, because no one who wasn’t having a pretty, pretty princess birthday party would choose these. But they were supposed to go to you for your birthday. Happy late birthday, Elle.”
She kept her expression smooth, even though hearing someone finally wish her happy birthday had her throat tightening. She swallowed past the unexpected and unwelcome emotion. “What happened to the twelfth one?”
He set the box on her desk and the door closed behind him. “I did a poison test for you. They’re safe but turn your tongue and teeth colors.”
He stuck out his fluorescent tongue and then grinned a toothy, pink smile to demonstrate.
She couldn’t stop the snort that escaped. She pressed her fingers over her mouth, trying not to show any break in her stone wall.
He waved a hand. “No, go ahead. I know. So many jokes that can be made. Don’t let your head explode from not saying one.”
“You should get that checked.”
He gave another encouraging flick of his hand. “I know there’s more.”
“Did Miss Piggy at least buy you a drink before you went down on her?”
He grinned wide.
“Did she taste like bacon?”
He laughed at that one, a warm, open sound that he’d never made in her presence. “I knew there was a sense of humor in there somewhere.” He lifted an eyebrow. “And Miss Piggy bought me a whole meal, which is more than I can say for the last woman I slept with.”
She stiffened at that, and the smile that had slipped out fell away. “Thanks for bringing them by but—”
“You’re busy. Yeah, I’m sure you are. And I got that we’re not supposed to talk about it. But look, here’s the deal. I have a very low tolerance for drama in my life these days. This”—he pointed a finger back and forth between the two of them—“is drama neither of us needs. So consider what happened done. I do. Both of us should’ve known better. We didn’t get along to begin with. A hot night in bed isn’t going to change that.”
She tipped her chin up, trying to maintain her cool composure. “No, it’s not.”
He smiled. “Got you to admit that it was hot.”

Erotic Contemporary Romance

River Cross, California – Present Day

Jewel Catalano, Rogen Angelini, and Vin D’Angelo had been childhood friends, but they drifted apart as they grew older. Jewel and Rogen had been dating before he was sent to boarding school, and then she started dating Vin, but that ended abruptly without any explanation from Vin. Jewel is an entrepreneur who wants to build an inn on nearby land owned jointly by her father and Rogen’s father. However, the two older men have been feuding for years, and getting Rogen’s father to agree to sell it to her could be impossible. However, Jewel is determined and crashes an Angelini party, where not only does she pitch her idea, but she runs into both Rogen and Vin.

Sparks fly once again with Rogen, and before the night is over, Jewel is having sex with him, during which Vin walks in on them. The next day at a meeting Rogen has called together to discuss the idea, Vin and Jewel have a confrontation that ends with her having sex with him in the restaurant bathroom. Jewel is attracted to both men, but how is that possible? She’s aware of the rumors that they have been involved in threesome relationships, but why is she interested in wanting the same with them? Soon, Jewel is challenging Rogen and Vin to have sex with her…at the same time. To her delight, they accept. But is there any future in a ménage relationship while trying to build a business partnership also?

Spicy hot like a Habanero pepper, THE BILLIONAIRES features three people who have been closely entangled since childhood and now are about to embark on a sexy adventure. The Catalano and Angelini families were close as Jewel and Rogen grew up, but when his younger sister died from cancer, it all changed as accusations were thrown around by the adults accusing the other of taking advantage of grief to profit themselves. Rogen and Jewel were involved romantically by then, but his parents yanked him out of school and sent him to boarding school, forbidding him to see her. Jewel then struck up a friendship with Vin, which turned sexual. But due to some misunderstandings, that affair ended, and none of the three have been in contact since…until now.

Jewel’s reunion with Rogen is bittersweet because their parents’ feud is still going strong. Rogen lets her know that while his father has agreed to her elaborate business proposition where she obtains a rare bottle of wine for him in exchange for his turning over his share of the property, he knows that his father will betray her in the end. Rogen offers to help her and wants Vin to be in on the deal, but the other man refuses at first. There is a lot of anger in Vin directed toward Jewel and she isn’t sure why. Is he jealous because she had sex with Rogen? While Jewel feels at first that Rogen is the man for her, she can’t forget about Vin. Instead of choosing one, she intends to have both.

As readers can deduct, THE BILLIONAIRES is a steamy, erotic read, but at the core is a romance about a trio finding the way to have a mutually satisfying relationship. Vin and Rogen are unique in their sexuality when it comes to Jewel, and she appreciates it. But even more so, they get along great, which means they are friends and lovers. Will Jewel get what she wants—the land and the men? Can they make their unique relationship work for a potential happily-ever-after?

If you love hot men, hot sex, and a tantalizing storyline, then grab a copy of THE BILLIONAIRES and be prepared to be entertained.

Elizabeth (Beth) Lacey’s uncle was a friend of the Dowager Duchess of Blackshire, so when the duchess said she wanted a companion since her niece has married, he offered the services of his granddaughter, Beth. Beth is one of three sisters society calls the 'Wilting Wallflowers.' Since her sister Meg has married an earl, the family is not in such dire financial straits. Beth, though, is a caring person who likes to help, so she agrees to be the dowager’s companion staying with the old woman in the duke’s townhouse, at least until the duke suddenly returns to town and confronts Beth.

Alexander Savage, the Duke of Blackshire, loves his grandmother. When as a child he was badly burned in a fire that killed his mother and father, she had cared for him, talking to him during endless hours of incredible pain and making him cling to life. He does not, however, want her in his townhouse right now, nor upon first meeting does he like her companion, an argumentative and opinionated, although beautiful, woman. Plus, the label, ‘Wilting Wallflowers,’ came from an off-the-cuff comment he made, something Beth doesn’t know. While he feels bad about that, she can’t stay. Bad things are happening to Alex, and he doesn’t want whoever is doing these reprehensible deeds to harm his grandmother.

The interactions between Alex and Beth are funny as both try to manipulate the other, which leads to their mutual attraction. Alex is not quite the rake gossip claims, and Beth certainly doesn’t fit the ‘wallflower’ remark he regrets making. Matter of fact, she is the only type of woman he discovers he wants for life. He has a long road to travel to get there with someone planning his demise and Beth’s sisters thwarting his goal. Older sister Meg’s story was featured in MY BROWN-EYED EARL, and readers can look forward to younger sister Julie’s story.

A protruding bit of bramble caught the side of Flora’s pelisse. She twisted to reach for it, and a whole raft of briars shifted with her, entangling the other side of her skirts, her right arm, and the brim of her bonnet. If she pulled away, it would rip the cloth. She struggled a little; more thorns dug in. “Blast it, I suppose you were right, you wretched dog,” she exclaimed, and discovered that Plato was gone.
Flora lifted a hand to free her hat. The movement tipped another part of the bush, which swayed and seemed to grab at her. A second branch lodged in her bonnet. She felt several claw at her back. A stem lashed across her neck. That one drew blood. She tried to step back, and was pricked by more thorns, through her clothes, from all directions.
Flora went very still. She saw that the path petered out just ahead. Or perhaps this hadn’t been a path at all, but merely a deceptive opening in the vegetation. She hadn’t been paying attention. She tried again to move. She was trapped in a sea of briars. The thorns were long and wickedly barbed. They pricked the skin of her neck, her arm, her back, her side.
She became aware of a rustling in the leaves near her feet. What next? The badgers? Snakes? No, of course not snakes. It was far too cold.
A small black-furred head poked through an opening at the base of the briars. Evading the thorns with no visible effort, Plato emerged and stared up at her. “Oh, you’re back, are you?” said Flora. He sat down at her feet. “Come to gloat? Point out that if I’d followed you, I wouldn’t be in this predicament?”
Plato looked at her. Not judgmentally, because that was impossible.
“Go fetch help,” commanded Flora. The dog didn’t move. “Some clever gardeners. A footman from the house. Anyone. Go!”
“Plato? Where are you, you dratted animal?” called a voice nearby.
“Lord Robert?” she called.
There was a short silence. “Flora?”
“Yes. I’ve, ah, become entangled in some brambles. Plato doesn’t appear to care in the least. Or, actually, he’s staring at me as if it was all my fault.” She frowned down at the dog. “Does he ever blink? He’s really a bit uncanny, don’t you—”
Robert appeared on the path. “Good God!” He started forward.
“Be careful! It’s very easy to get caught. If you touch one branch, the whole mass moves.”
“I see.” He examined the arching stems. “You really are caught, aren’t you?” His lips twitched.
“If you laugh, I’ll...make you sorry,” Flora promised. Plato made one of his odd grumpy gargling sounds. “And you! I’ll find a badger and hand you over to him.”
Robert choked. “So, would you say you’re in need of rescue?”
“Just get me out!”
Robert moved a few steps closer. He could see that the thorns had barbs like fishhooks, ready to rip and tear if not removed very carefully. There was a trickle of blood on Flora’s neck. After a moment of calculation, he eeled between two branches. He had to stop once and detach thorns from his sleeve before he reached her side.
“These things are diabolical,” she said. “When I turned to pull loose, they seemed to...sort of lunge at me.”
“Stay very still.”
“I know!” She let out a huff of breath. “I beg your pardon. This is...rather irritating.” She smiled an apology.
Robert felt a catch in his chest, as if his heart had stumbled briefly. “Right then. Move back, Plato,” he said. For once, the little dog obeyed him, slipping easily out to a more open spot.
He began on the closest branch, embedded in the skirts of Flora’s pelisse. He had to kneel to reach it properly. His knife was small for the tough fibers. The bush swayed as he sawed at the branch. A spray of thorns rasped across his hair, but didn’t catch hold.
Robert soon pricked his skin. There was no way to hold the branch still without being stuck, and he’d left his gloves indoors when he’d seen Plato shoot wildly out of the bushes and then go haring off again.
Blood made the blasted thing slippery. Robert got out his handkerchief, used it to wrap the branch, and went back to work. At last, he was through. The severed stem sprang back a little, he was glad to see, giving him a few inches of working room. He looked up. “One down,” he said with a smile.
The heated gaze he encountered went through him like a thunderbolt. He was suddenly acutely aware of his position, right in among her skirts. His shoulder rested against her thigh. The scent of her—flowery perfume and sheer female—enveloped him.
“You’ve hurt yourself,” she said.
“It’s nothing.” Intensely aroused, Robert eased to his feet. Flora smiled at him again. Her fierce blue eyes raked him. He knew, absolutely, that she was remembering their kisses.
The next branch was wrapped around her far sleeve. He had to press close to her to avoid the briars at his back as he reached for it. And stay there while he cut through the stringy fiber of the bramble. The feel of her—curve of breast and hip, her cheek resting on his chest—made him clumsier. At one point a thorn drove deep into the pad of his index finger, and he stifled an oath.

Flora was having trouble breathing. She could feel his heartbeat, so near her ear, accelerating in tandem with her own. She could feel his muscles shift against her as he cut at the brambles. If she looked up, carefully, she could see his face—handsome, intent. The lips that had thrilled her were only inches away. But she couldn’t move enough to offer her own again. She had to remain very still, plastered against him.

Meet the Author:

Amy Ayers remembers writing her first fiction as an introspective tween in rainy Portland, Oregon. She took a break from writing to move with her family to the desert of Phoenix, Arizona. She graduated from the University of Arizona with a degree in Journalism and a minor in Women’s Studies which lends itself to writing strong, opinionated heroines. She has worked as an Editor, a Job-Skills Trainer, and as an Executive Assistant. She even spent a college semester writing articles for the Tombstone Epitaph in the town ‘too tough to die’. She currently divides her time between her writing, her family (including one husband, four boys and two dogs), and her daily commute to work. A life-long lover of literature, she began writing her own contemporary romance in earnest in 2014 and is thrilled to be published with Entangled. She hopes to win the lottery someday so that she can devote all of her time to writing; until then, she writes when she can.

“He’s not just your son, or even our son. He’s part of a lineage, a birthright that demands certain behavior. Any Medina heir should be raised knowing our place in the world and the responsibility we have to the men, women, and children of Barcelona and Girona.”
Senna watched as Max tried valiantly to detach the probably solid gold links from the cuffs of what was certainly a custom shirt.

“That’s an incredible amount of pressure to put on yourself…and on a baby.”

His voice hardened again. “Max is a Medina. He’s the firstborn of a firstborn. He will fulfill his duties. That’s the way it’s been done for centuries.”

“It sounds like a prison sentence. What if he wants to be a doctor or a rock star or something?”

Marco’s laugh was harsh. “Firstborn sons don’t get to have dreams, princesa.”

She glanced at Max playing happily in his father’s lap, his big, expressive brown eyes taking in all the shiny newness that was Marco. So precious and innocent. Then the doubt hit her like a vicious punch. What have I sentenced him to?

“It’s not all bad, Senna. I love what I do, and I think I’m pretty good at it.”

“Yes, but if you had a choice, would this have been it?”

“I don’t know. Probably. I mean, I think every little boy has dreams of growing up and fighting fires or flying fighter jets.” His smile was thin.

She sighed. “I wanted to train dolphins at SeaWorld. So I get it. Plans change. Life happens.”

“For a Medina the plan is set. And it’s an honor and a privilege. Max will grow to see that one day.”

“Just like you have?”

“Yes.” His answer was firm, resolute.

He finally stood up to face her, but he didn’t relinquish the baby. His features were fixed and stony. His eyes flashed with fire, his words tumbled out low and foreboding.

“Senna, I want Max to meet his family in Girona.”

“Okay. I’m sure we can arrange something.”

“I want to take him to Spain with me. Today.”

She stood to face him, panic consuming her.

“You can’t just take him, Marco. We can work out some sort of agreement, but he doesn’t go anywhere without me.”

“Fine, Senna. In that case, let me tell you what is going to happen.”

This should be good.

Everland, Georgia – Present Day

Pepper Knight moved to Everland from New York City to take a court clerking job, but when she arrives, she learns that the offer has been given to someone because of nepotism. Now stuck in a small town with no job or friends, she is not sure what to do, especially since she used all her money to move. Then she runs into her next-door neighbor, Rhett Valentine, who is the town veterinarian. Rhett is soon helping Pepper get a job as a dog walker. Anything will do for the cash poor Pepper, but for someone who has a fear of dogs, is she flirting with disaster?

Rhett is used to being the object of the town’s attention despite his trying to stay out of the limelight. His claim to “fame” is being jilted at the altar years ago and, since then, he’s avoided a committed relationship like it’s the plague. But Pepper intrigues him, and he goes out of his way to help her whenever he can. Pepper and Rhett become good friends and are soon locking lips, plus much more. They’re hoping to keep their fling a secret, but with an elderly neighbor popping up in unexpected places to spy on them, it’s hard to do. While a short affair seems perfect for commitment phobia Rhett, how will he react if Pepper moves away?

Pepper grew up in a small town in Maine, but escaped to New York City, where she obtained a law degree and a low paying job. She jumped at a chance to work in a small town in Georgia without even visiting it. Alas, the job offer was withdrawn, and she’s suddenly penniless and stuck in Everland. Pepper also is deathly afraid of dogs, and it appears just about everyone here has at least one dog. She meets Rhett, and he’s very neighborly towards her, even helping to get her a job walking dogs. While her “charge” is small, the job requires that she visit a dog park where there are huge dogs. Pepper grows out of her fear of dogs and gets even closer to Dr. Hottie.

Rhett feels as if his life has been about unexpected losses, as he lost his mother to an allergic reaction to a bee sting, and his fiancée didn’t tell him that she outgrew him until the day they were supposed to marry. As such, it has left Rhett having a hard time with female relationships, but once he meets Pepper, he wants more than a one-night fling. While Rhett is a vet in IT HAPPENED ON LOVE STREET, readers don’t see too much of him in the clinic, as most of his interaction revolves around Pepper and his friend, Beau, as well as with the other townsfolks in Everland.

Just as things heat up for Rhett and Pepper in IT HAPPENED ON LOVE STREET, her sister, Tuesday, shows up and is immediately an interloper in her sister’s hot affair with the vet. It also doesn’t take long for Tuesday to lock horns with Beau, and I suspect their tale is the next one in the Everland, Georgia series.

One thing that did puzzle me in this story is Pepper’s aversion to dogs. Yes, it’s explained, but her “cure” is almost immediate. For someone who has feared dogs since she was a child, she suddenly grows attached to them, and even gets one of her own. I felt that this left a bit of a disconnection in the tale.

IT HAPPENED ON LOVE STREET is a cute, funny tale that wraps up fairly quickly after Rhett and Pepper not only realize they love one another, but can’t live without the other. If you like cute stories with dogs and a happily-ever-after, then grab a copy of IT HAPPENED ON LOVE STREET.

“Here’s an idea.” He nudged his finger on hers. “Say we—and this is purely hypothetically—enjoyed the . . . ahem . . .pleasure of each other’s company in the privacy of ourhomes.”
“Hypothetically, kept it casual and under the radar?”
She nudged back. “When I leave, there’s no heartbreak, no drama, and no one is the wiser.”
“Interesting theory?” He reached out, his hand splaying her knee. “Or recipe for disaster?”
Tingles shot up her thigh. His skin was warm, those fingers very big and very male. “I have enough to worry about with my future. If you don’t need me for more than a little here and now? I might be persuaded. Hypothetically.”
He moved his hand from her knee to the back of her neck. The touch melted her faster than an ice cube in the July sun.
“What are you thinking?” she murmured.
His deep blue gaze locked on hers and there it came again, that curious sensation of floating and drowning. “That I’d like to hypothetically kiss you.”
There was a sudden roaring in her ears, a whoosh of blood. “Well, there’s only one way to test a hypothesis.”
Slowly, oh so slowly, he dipped forward. His lips didn’t settle on hers like she expected. Instead, he kissed the center of her forehead, softly, experimentally. A tremble rocked through him.
The evening air was sultry, no a hint of chill. The idea that she shook this steadfast man sent a shiver of need through the join of her thighs, a throbbing shudder that swelled to an ache as he peppered a light trail of kisses down her temple, and then moved lower. He took his sweet time on her cheeks, treating her as something to savor, a delicious dessert you didn’t want to wolf in one bite. Tension spread through her body, pulling tighter and tighter, her belly doing a fluttery dips and dives.
When he finally reached her lips, it seemed reasonable to expect that the kiss would be as soft as the others. Silly. Because Rhett was full of surprises. He didn’t hold back, his tongue was greedy, insistent, and hungry. Their teeth banged together. A chair tipped over. They crashed against a table leg, sent it screeching across the floor.
“In theory, you’re a good kisser,” she gasped, tracing her lower lip with her tongue. The skin was puffy, aching.

“Let me experiment a bit more. The initial results are promising.”
