Q&A with B.J. Daniels on her upcoming release....LONE RIDER

1.) What is Bo Hamilton up to these days?
Bo has been under a lot of stress. We don't find out why until LONE RIDER.
2.) Without giving away too much, what's your favorite scene in the book?
Ever cuddled up with someone you love in a makeshift shelter in a snowstorm? That's all I can say about that.
3.) What type of lover is Jace?
That's pretty personal. He is the kind of man who takes making love seriously. He is the kind of man who will always be there for the woman he loves - even for a woman who broke his heart.
4.) Where would Jace and Bo run away to elope?
5.) How far in advance do you plan out your stories?

Seconds. Seriously. I'm a seat of the pants writer. I never know what is going to happen until I put my fingers on the keyboard. It's very exciting for me - and terrifying.
6.) Did you do a character sketch of the sisters before you started this series?
Nope. It's that seat of the pants thing. But I did have a sense of each of them.
7.) If you could choose any literary heroine that is most like Bo, who would it be?
Scarlett O'Hara. Like Scarlett, Bo is strong and determined. She passed up a chance at happiness with the man who promised her undying love. But unlike Scarlett, Bo won't make that mistake twice.
8.) Has the Hamilton family dynamic changed since the last book?
Definitely. Little did the Hamiltons know just how many secrets there were in their family. As each secret comes out, the family grows closer.
9.) Can you give us any hints for upcoming characters/suspenseful scenes?
The mystery surrounding the sisters' mother, Sarah, continues. There will be lots of surprises including dead bodies as each sister grows and falls in love.  Ultimately, it will all bring the family closer together.
10.) What are you working on next?
The next book in the series is LUCKY SHOT (December). Kat, the prickly sister who speaks her mind, will meet her match in Max, a reporter/photographer who will bring her out of her shell.
In HARD RAIN (March), Harper and Brody McTavish finally get a chance for romance - unless the secret between their families drives them apart.
In the next two books after that, sisters Cassidy and Ainsley will get their chance for happiness with mystery men - and the biggest secret - their mother Sarah - will be solved.

Promo Spotlight on .. REDEMPTION BAY by RaeAnne Thayne

Out July 2015

A young mayor will do anything to save her town, even if it means welcoming back the man she blames for almost destroying it in REDEMPTION BAY (HQN Books, July 2015, $7.99 U.S./$8.99 CAN.), the second book in New York Times and USA TODAY bestselling author RaeAnne Thayne’s enthralling Haven Point series.

McKenzie Shaw would do anything for her hometown of Haven Point. It may be small, but it’s never let her down…unlike gorgeous, infuriating Ben Kilpatrick.

Ben was her childhood hero until he closed his family’s boat factory, leaving the town’s economy in shambles.

But now his tech firm is considering opening a local facility. Her natural instinct, fueled by all these years of resentment, is to fight him at every turn. For Haven Point’s sake, however, McKenzie must grit her teeth and be as welcoming as she can manage—a task further complicated by her fierce attraction to Ben and her discovery that he is renting the lake house next door to hers.

For Ben, being back in Haven Point evokes all the dark and ugly memories of his childhood. What could a town filled with painful memories ever offer him? Yet seeing Haven Point through the eyes of McKenzie—its fiery young mayor—he suddenly has his answer. If only he can resolve the animosity crackling between them, Ben may have found the place where he can build ties and find healing…a place where love arrives when it’s least expected.

REDEMPTION BAY is available wherever books are sold and through Harlequin.com.

Review and Spotlight on COLTON COWBOY PROTECTOR by Beth Cornelison!

The Coltons of Oklahoma, Book 1
Harlequin Romantic Suspense, #1851
ISBN: 978-0-373-27921-0
June 2015
Contemporary Romantic Suspense

The Lucky C Ranch outside Tulsa, Oklahoma

After losing her cousin in an auto accident while Laura was helping her flee her abusive husband, Tracy McCain wants nothing more than to repay her cousin’s sacrifice by getting close to Laura’s little boy, Seth. She can do this now that her own husband is dead. With freedom and insurance money, Tracy leaves Denver for Oklahoma and the Colton ranch. She accidentally crashes a lavish party, complete with press and cameras, put on by Laura’s ex in-laws to announce the engagement of their daughter Greta. Taken variously as a guest and caterer’s staff, it takes a while for Tracy to find Seth’s dad, Jack Colton.

Laura just could not take life on a ranch after growing up in the suburbs; she had no interest in the great outdoors or the animals. She left when Seth, now five, was just a little guy, believing he’d be better off staying with his father and wealthy family than with her as a single mom. Tracy wants to tell Seth about his mother and how much she loved him, but, right away, Jack is positive Tracy is after money and orders her to leave. His sister Greta, however, invites Tracy to stay in the big house for as long as she wants. Jack and Seth live in the original ranch house, a long walk away. Even with the antagonism and disappointment, a current of interest flows between Tracy and Jack, something they both try to ignore. It’s not easy; Jack doesn’t want Seth to be alone with Tracy—he told his son that his mother died, rather than have him know she left him. And then it becomes apparent that someone malevolent has an interest in Tracy. Jack’s protective side kicks in and moves Tracy closer, even though Tracy wants to leave if she has brought danger to Seth and the ranch.

The Coltons are a large, extended family and Harlequin has other miniseries about them, But the Coltons of Oklahoma have the potential for at least five more highly readable books. (Some already in the works by other authors.) Don’t forget the newly engaged Greta, and the other Colton sons are eligible hunks as well as Jack. There are Brett, a playboy; Ryan, with the Tulsa Police; Dr. Eric, a trauma surgeon; and half-brother Daniel, a horse whisperer. You’ll like the patriarch, John (Big J.) Colter, but probably not the uppity matriarch, Abra.

You won’t go wrong getting in at the start with the enjoyable and suspenseful tale, COLTON COWBOY PROTECTOR.

Promo Spotlight: OVER THE EDGE by Mari Brown!

Title: Over The Edge
Series: Knight Series #2
Author: Mari Brown
Genre: Erotic Romance
Release Date: June 24, 2015
Katarina “Kat” Roberts left years ago for college. Leaving behind the man she loved trying to make a future for herself. She has avoided Belmont for five long years because of Cole Knight. When her brother is shot protecting Cole she is forced to return and face him.

Cole Knight, powerful leader to a crime family hasn't seen Kat since she walked out on him. Now they have to put their past aside when an old enemy comes back determined to take out Kat, Cole and anyone connected to them.

Kat and Cole have to learn to work together and not tear each other apart as they battle a common foe. Will it bring them closer together? Will they get a second chance at love or will the past be too much for them to overcome?

“I’m looking for my brother,”

The poor woman sitting at the desk is startled by my yelling at her.

“Name?” she asks. She is clam despite my outburst.

“Drew Roberts”. A body moves up next to mine and realize that Luke has joined me.

The lady’s fingers begin flying across a keyboard before she looks up at me.

“Mr. Roberts is currently in surgery but you can go down the hall to the surgical waiting room and there’ll be an information desk there that can help you more.”

There is no time to wait as I take off in the direction she sent me. Luke struggles to keep up with me as I race down the corridor.

“Katarina slow down” Luke calls to me. I pause only a moment before continuing down the hallway as I walk into the waiting area I pull up short.

Bruce and Julie are huddled together. Their faces somber. They are the only two family members I see and I briefly wonder where the others are. Bruce moves his head our eyes connect, he begins to stand. My body propels itself into Bruce’s waiting arms. His eyes cut over to Luke silently acknowledging his presence but he never says a word. His arms wrap tightly around me holding me and bringing me the comfort I have been seeking since I talked to him this morning on the phone.

“He’s been in surgery around five hours now. They come out every hour or so to update us," Bruce steps back facing me “So far things are going well. He had three bullets enter him and two splintered.  They trying to get all pieces they can.”

My body sags. Bruce grip tightens on me to support my weight. The relief of knowing Drew is still alive is enough right now.

Julie moves toward us, I see her out of the corner of my eye. I let go of Bruce and angle my body toward Julie when she engulfs me in a hug. We stand there hugging each other like we haven’t seen each other in ages. Even though we had just spent a week in Vegas together last month.

“Well. Well look what the cat dragged in” an annoying voice that I have missed more than I will ever admit too.

Justin walks into the waiting room. Even though his tone sounded light and joking his face is somber his eyes not twinkling with their usual mischief.

“Justin” I exclaim throwing myself at him as he pulls me into him.

“Brought the replacement with you I see,” he whispers quietly referring to Luke.

Mari has been writing as far back as she can remember. She spent most of her teen years writing short stories for her friends, it was a hobby for her even though she was published in the school newspaper.

She met and married her very own Alpha male 20 years ago and they have a 19 year old daughter, and two sons ages 16 and 15. They have 4 dogs and 2 cats. There is never a dull moment around the house. They live on the beautiful Gulf Coast of Alabama and are blessed to have a home on the river and to have the beach just 20 minutes away.

Over the years she wrote a few short stories in between raising babies but it wasn’t until 2012 she decided she needed to pursue her dream of writing a full novel. It took a while but in January of 2014 her debut novel was self-published. There is always a story in her head and characters talking to her. She enjoys being able to share her characters with others.

Spotlight Review:

SEA GLASS SUNRISE – Donna Kauffman
The Brides of Blueberry Cove , Book 1
ISBN: 978-1-4201-3745-3
June 2015
Contemporary Romance

The Coast of Maine, the Present

Hannah McCrae, one of three sisters and a brother, left the little town on Blueberry Cove to make a life and a name for herself. She became a successful trial attorney in Washington, D.C. In the other part of her life, she was not so successful. After eighteen months of a relationship she thought would lead to marriage, she found out—in a most humiliating way—that her boyfriend already had a wife—a most pregnant one. Hannah was already planning a trip home for her brother's wedding, so she decided to make it a permanent move. She quit her job, gave up her apartment, and headed home. As she neared town, she failed to notice the newly erected four-way stop signs and blasted through the intersection barely missing a truck. Unfortunately, she didn't miss an advertising sign. The jarring stop deployed her air bag. Between the force of that and her seatbelt, Hannah was a mess. Just then a Good Samaritan, with a lovely deep voice--the driver of the truck—came to her rescue. Being the independent, take-charge sort of female she is, she argued with him.But he won. Her car needed towing, and her nose needed stitches.

Calder Blue came from another of Blueberry Cove's founding families. However, the Blue clan split near a century ago, but the feud still exists. The local branch fishes the sea; Calder's ancestors moved north toward the Canadian border and became building contractors. He's in the area because a local man is trying to take over the cove to build a yacht club no else one wants. He offered the job to the northern Blues, and Calder accepted. He thought something was off in the offer and was curious to find out what, and also to see if he could heal the breach between the two sides of the family. Calder's Great-Uncle Jonah Blue is a stubborn old coot who ordersCalder off his land, and Brooks Winstock, the man who made the offer, keeps putting off their meeting. It's most curious. What is also curious is the affect the bruised Hannah has on him, black eyes, cut lips and nose and all—and he on her, if truth be known. She's still hurting from her last affair and busy with the wedding and reunion with her family; she has no time for a dalliance.

SEA GLASS SUNRISE has a complex plot that grabs you and hangs on, and so do the many characters. There are especially Hanna's two younger sisters, Fiona a designer in New York City, and Kerry, the wild child often away to exotic locales. And we mustn't forget brother Logan, Blueberry Cove's chief of police, and his fair bride, Alex. There is a lot of love in this family, and Alex soon becomes another beloved sister. Look for mystery and suspense brought about by the ambitions of a local man, and a growing relationship between Hannah and Calder. The latter also plans major changes in his life, so it doesn't seem like a good time for romance, yet Hannah and Calder will charm you and amuse you with their banter. I was thrilled with the respect and kindness they exhibit toward each other.

I first met Donna Kauffman many years ago on the old AOL Romance Boards, where readers and authors chatted. I enjoyed her and her books then, but somehow lost track. I am delighted with SEA GLASS SUNRISE and the chance to read a favorite author once more. Don't miss this novel; it has everything.
