Promo: Beauty Tempts the Beast by Lorraine Heath

1.    Tell us about BEAUTY TEMPTS THE BEAST

BEAUTY TEMPTS THE BEAST is the final book in the Sins for All Seasons series and features Benedict—known throughout Whitechapel as Beast—Trewlove. Shortly after he was born, his mother handed him over to Ettie Trewlove, with the promise she would return for him. Only she never did, and he has often struggled with wondering why she didn’t keep her promise. Because he is the tallest and broadest of all the Trewloves, he has made it his mission to protect those who haven’t the strength or means to protect themselves. Lady Althea Stanwick has been cast out from Society and is determined to return on her own terms—and those terms involve becoming a notorious courtesan. Shortly after an encounter with Beast, she asks him to teach her how to become a seductress.

2.    Without giving away any spoilers, give us a hint about a favorite scene.

My favorite scene takes place in a gambling hell, when Althea confronts her former fiancé and Beast aids her in having a bit of revenge against him.

3.    What inspired you to become a writer?

I have always loved writing. In my youth, I wrote lengthy letters to relatives, kept a diary, and wrote stories to entertain myself. In high school, I worked on the school newspaper and the yearbook. In college, I started out as a journalist major, but got sidetracked by psychology. But I always wanted to write a novel. In 1990, I discovered romance and fell in love with the genre. I knew I was reading the sort of stories I wanted to write.

4.    What is a typical writing day for you like?

Because I tend to write late into the night, my day typically doesn’t begin until mid-morning. I prepare a cup of tea and bring it into my office where I take a quick gander at my email. Then I’ll write for a while. I break for lunch and usually take a nap afterward. During the late afternoon I’ll write or research until around 7. I spend the evening with my husband, watching TV. Then around midnight, I return to the computer for a couple of hours. I really enjoy writing when the rest of the world has gone to sleep.

5.    If you weren’t a writer, what would you be doing?

I would probably do more volunteer work, organizing fundraisers and events. I enjoy organizing the Buns & Roses Romance Tea for Literacy that takes place every October to raise funds for the Richardson Adult Literacy Center.

6.       Do you have any interesting writing quirks or habits?

I don’t know if it’s interesting, but I always listen to a rain/thunderstorm CD that I purchased at the beginning of my career to assist in muffling out the ruckus of my sons playing. They no longer live at home, but after so many years of listening to that sound as I wrote, it always triggers something inside me that announces it’s time to get busy writing.

7.    What has been one of the most surprising things you’ve learned as a published author?

While the act of writing may be a solitary endeavor, I was pleasantly surprised to discover that the romance community of readers, authors, and publishing professionals provides a comradery that is incredibly uplifting and supportive. It’s as though I have another family.

8.    What authors or friends influenced you in helping you become a writer?

I have to give a lot of credit to my younger sister, Theresa, in helping me to become a writer. When I first started writing, I’d mail her a chapter, back before we had email. She’d read it and call me to ask where the next chapter was. Her enthusiasm for my stories often kept me at the keyboard. As the Internet came into being, I connected with writers Fay Robinson and Alexandra Hawkins. None of us were published at the time and we became critique partners. I learned a lot from them, and it was reassuring to have someone traveling the same path I was.

9.    Do you have any favorite authors that you like to read?

I’m certain to leave someone out, but Sarah MacLean, Meg Cabot, Addison Fox, Cathy Maxwell, Tracey Livesay, and Julie Anne Long are auto-reads for me. I’ve recently discovered some new-to-me authors that I have really enjoyed reading: Talia Hibbert, Emily Henry, Scarlet Peckham, and Kerrigan Byrne.

10. What other hobbies or interests do you have?

I enjoy trying different types of massages—four hand massage, hot rock massage, and yes, even chocolate massage. Whenever we travel, if a spa is near, I’ll sample their services.

11. Can you tell us about what’s coming up next after this for you writing wise?

In BEAUTY TEMPTS THE BEAST, the reader will be introduced to the heroine’s brothers and one of them will begin a spin-off series: Once Upon a Dukedom.

Lorraine Heath ends her bestselling Sins for All Seasons series with the hero readers have been waiting for!

She wants lessons in seduction

Althea Stanwick was a perfect lady destined to marry a wealthy lord, until betrayal left her family penniless. Though she’s lost friends, fortune, and respectability, Althea has gained a scandalous plan. If she can learn to seduce, she can obtain power over men and return to Society on her terms. She even has the perfect teacher in mind, a man whose sense of honor and dark good looks belie his nickname: Beast.

But desire like this can’t be taught

Benedict Trewlove may not know his parentage but he knows where he belongs—on the dark side of London, offering protection wherever it’s needed. Yet no woman has ever made such an outrageous request as this mysterious beauty. Althea is out of place amongst vice and sin, even if she offers a wicked temptation he can’t resist. But as the truth of his origin emerges at last, it will take a fierce, wild love to overcome their pasts.

Promo: My Kind Of Earl by Vivienne Lorret

1.   Tell us about your latest release.

MY KIND OF EARL is a Tarzan in London story. Raven learned to survive as an orphan in London and made a life for himself, never knowing who his parents were. Then, a fateful encounter with a bluestocking in a brothel brings him face to face with the one person who just might be able to discover who he really is.

2.  Without giving away any spoilers, give us a hint about a favorite scene.

I think one of my favorite scenes would have to be when Jane accidentally covers herself in sugar. It happens when she’s in the kitchen talking to the cook about having Raven over for tea, but she becomes distracted as she carefully examines all the graters and sifters for their potential use in a snow-machine invention. So, when Raven arrives and sees the sugar-coated bluestocking, he can’t resist taking a small sampling.

3. What inspired you to become a writer?

One of my many fabulous teachers encouraged me to write down my thoughts to help me through a troubling time in my youth. I was eleven-years-old and I’ve been writing ever since.

4. What is a typical writing day for you like?

Begin the day with the best of intentions.

Drink tea.

Clean the smudges off my readers.

Type a brilliant sentence.

Reward myself with hours of procrastination.

Wash, rinse, repeat.

5. If you weren’t a writer, what would you be doing?

I’d still be writing.

6. Do you have any interesting writing quirks or habits?

Well, I don’t know how interesting they are, but I definitely have quirks and habits. I always begin my day with a mug of chai (okay…usually about 3 mugs). I usually sit in the lotus position at my desk while writing. And I jot down little reminders and motivators on Post-its and stick them to my laptop.

7. What has been one of the most surprising things you’ve learned as a published author?

Maybe this isn’t the most surprising, but it is certainly the best thing I’ve learned as a published author: Romance writers and readers are the absolute best people on the planet. They are supportive, caring, generous, and simply amazing.

8. What authors or friends influenced you in helping you become a writer?

My teachers, all throughout grade school and college, were my initial support system, piecing together the foundation. Then, when I attended my first RWA conference, I met so many wonderful authors who readily shared their wisdom and offered encouragement.

9. Do you have any favorite authors that you like to read?

There are oodles of amazing authors on my auto-buy list for historical, contemporary, suspense, paranormal, and just about every romance sub-genre under the sun. I could list them all, but we’d be here a long time. I also enjoy rereading the keepers that have been on my shelves for decades. But if you’re looking for recommendations, I eagerly suggest picking up the nearest romance and giving it a try. There’s nothing better than discovering a new-to-you author who finds a place in your heart and on your keeper shelf.

10. What other hobbies or interests do you have?

I enjoy taking photos, especially while on my daily walks. I’ve been known to crochet travel cup cozies from time to time. I’m also a stress-baker and I’m seriously looking forward to a marathon baking session of all things pumpkin.

11. Can you tell us about what’s coming up next after this for you writing wise?

I’m currently writing the third book in the Mating Habits of Scoundrels series, THE WRONG MARQUESS, a love triangle story, available in 2021.

About MY KIND OF EARL:

Jane Pickerington never intended to start a brawl in a brothel. She only wanted to research her book. Yet when her simple study of scoundrels goes awry, she finds herself coming to the rescue of a dark, enigmatic stranger… who turns out to be far more than an average rake out for a night of pleasure. He’s positively wild!

Only the most feral and cunning could have survived foundling homes and work houses. Orphaned as an infant, Raven never had another name. At least… not until he meets her. Now he’s face-to-face with the one person who recognizes the strange birthmark on his arm and can reinstate him to his blue-blooded birthright.

All at once, Raven’s life takes a turn. His knowledge of dark alleys and gaming hells never prepared him for gilded ballrooms. So Jane becomes his tutor. Yet, the more lessons in decorum she offers, the more this untamed scoundrel wants to teach her all the ways to be wicked.

Ann (Literary Lust) - ❝OH. MY. GOODNESS. This is one story that you honestly must not miss!!❞

A Book Lover's Emporium Book Blog - ❝I absolutely adored this book. My face was aching because I smiled and laughed so much, plus I shed some very happy tears too.❞

Kirsty Moseley has always been a passionate reader since she was a little girl, devouring books overnight, barely sleeping and paying for it at school the next day. Writing has come similarly to her and once she discovered Wattpad, she finally plucked up the courage to post one of her stories. Seven million reads later, she self-published her debut novel THE BOY WHO SNEAKS IN MY BEDROOM WINDOW, which later became one of 10 Finalists for the 2012 Goodreads' Choice Awards, Best YA Fiction. Shocked and overwhelmed by the response, she published her second novel ALWAYS YOU a few months later and hasn’t looked back.
If she had to sum herself up in one word, it would probably be 'daydreamer' - but unlike most of her school teachers, she doesn't necessarily view that as a bad thing. After all, she read somewhere once that books are like waking dreams....
She lives in Norfolk, England with her husband and son.
