Song Playlist: A prepared playlist of songs that embodies the book’s characters and their love story.
Pink – Who Knew (Because heroine thinks hero is dead)
Miranda Lambert/Carrie Underwood – Somethin’ Bad (bride Megan Lynch, tries to escape from her wedding with the help of female bodyguard Nikki Payne – feels very much like this country duet)
Adele – Someone Like You (but from male pov – heroine is engaged to another man – so Gage thinks she’s over him – she thought he was dead, though)
Rob Thomas – This is How a Heart Breaks (She’s breaking his heart all over again because Gage thinks Megan wants to marry her groom)
Adele – One and Only (Megan realizes she loves Gage and trusts that he really loves her too)
John Legend – All of Me (Gage and Megan know they’re not perfect but they’re perfect for each other)
How-to Tips for Aspiring Writers: Tips for those looking to get their work published/break into the industry.
Greatest tip I can give anyone – Perseverance – keep writing. The more you write the better chance you’ll have of getting published and sustaining a writing career. It took me years to get my first book published and I’ve suffered through some slumps due to lines closing – losing editors and agents, etc –but BEAUTY AND THE BODYGUARD is my 52nd published book. No matter how many rejections I received, I kept writing. And if an editor asked me to revise, I revised. I once changed a book from a women’s fiction into a paranormal vampire book. I look at revisions as a challenge to make a book even better.
Writer’s Space: Photos and a brief description of the place where they do their writing.
I have an office but I rarely spend any time in it. I am usually on the couch or in a chair with the TV playing, my family talking to me and my cat on my lap. :)
Love Lessons Learned: Real life romance lessons learned from the book.
To trust love. Megan doesn’t trust Gage’s feelings for her because he’s gorgeous and she doesn’t see the beauty in herself. She thought he was using her to get ahead with her father for whom he worked. So she broke up with him. He quit his job, rejoined the Marines and deployed. He was presumed dead for months. Megan realized too late that she should have trusted his love. After a couple romantic setbacks of my own, I had to learn to trust love again. But like Megan, at first I was scared to believe. But like Megan, I found my courage to risk my heart.
Movie Star Cast: The author picks movie stars to play the characters in a movie.
Gage Huxton reminds me of a young Brad Pitt. Not sure who would play him now since Gage is only in his late twenties.
Or Scott Eastwood…
Heroine Megan Lynch reminds me of America Ferrera - very beautiful and curvy but unaware of how beautiful she is…
Romantic Revenge: The author picks an action-packed movie which pairs perfectly with their book.
Die Hard – Hero Gage Huxton would definitely be the John McClane character – willing to do anything to save the woman he loves and from whom he is estranged.
Can this bachelor bodyguard save his true love from mortal danger…on her wedding day?
Bride-to-be Megan Lynch has just learned her ex, presumed dead marine Gage Huxton, is alive after surviving enemy captivity. But before she can break up with her fiancé, gunmen storm her wedding and take hostages! Megan will do anything to stay alive—for herself and a second chance with Gage. But there's more terror to endure before she can say yes to the dress—and her dream groom!
What do the gunmen want? Gage works double time to unravel the mystery and save the beauty who still holds his heart. As the wedding crashers open fire, Gage puts his life on the line to protect Megan and convince her of his love.
