1. Tell us about your newest release.
A Shadow's Kiss is a medieval novel following the romance of Sir Alexander and Madeline. They both made their debut in my first Shadow Guardian book, An Irresistible Shadow, but demanded their own book once the first ended. Alexander must go undercover and enter Scotland to find Madeline, who disappeared from a tournament her uncle was hosting. When Alexander finds her, he must decide if he should follow his duty and return to the baron without Madeline. An English knight has no place behind Scottish stone walls. What will he choose his honor or his love for Madeline?
2. What was one of the most surprising things you learned in creating your story?
The most surprising thing was when I started writing the story and Heather popped into the very first scene. She was not planned nor was she even a scribble in my pre writing notes or outline. No, she just popped her messy tangled head into my story and plopped down for the duration of the story. I love when things like that happen. It keeps the story fresh. Plus, she makes the story richer with her presence. The characters know what they're doing.
3. Do you have any interesting or quirks or rituals?
I have to have music when I write and the mood has to fit the scene. I'm also big on not being interrupted. I lose my groove and can fall out of a scene quickly when I have constant interruptions, so I make sure everyone in the house knows I'm writing and to not disturb me...unless it's an emergency, you know like a fire or Tom Hiddleston is on the phone. *giggles*
4. What authors or friends influenced you in helping you become a writer?
I have a writers group called The Sarcastic Muse. They are my inspiration, my motivation, and my rock. I would not be where I am today without my little group of writers to surround me when I need help or guidance. I love them dearly.
I also have a small network of published authors on Facebook who offer advice and guidance when I find myself lost or floundering. What would I do without the internet to keep my in contact with them? I'd probably whither and blow away.
5. What does your family think about your career as a published author?
My family is extremely supportive of my career as a published author. They are my biggest fans. I'm very fortunate to have family and friends who love me enough to stand beside me in my choice of career.
6. Besides writing, what other interests do you have?
I love gardening, photography, crafting, jewelry making, home improvement projects, and being outside in the woods. My husband and kids love to go camping, so we often take off for little adventures with our camper and pickup truck.
7. Can you tell us what is coming up next for you?
I'm excited to be working on some new projects. I'm writing a stage play called Confessions of a Fangirl and plotting the third book in the Shadow Guardian Series. I'm spreading my wings as an author and an editor, so it's a very exciting time for me right now.

A Cowboy Sunrise
Katie never expected her impromptu vacation at her best friend's dude ranch to have such glorious scenery...or tight wrangler clad cowboys.
Frustrated over losing her job, Katie accepts her best friend's invitation to spend a few weeks at their dude ranch in Wyoming. She never expected the stampede of desire when she caught a glimpse of her first authentic cowboy. Her mind immediately wondered what the handsome cowboy hid beneath his dusty wranglers. Katie never expected to find a man, let alone one whose kisses turned her limbs into jello. Can she return to her life in the city and leave the charming cowboy behind?
Stick her in the middle of a chaotic home with two children, a hyperactive dog, and a camouflage wearing husband, and she can cook and clean with the best of them. But when the sun goes down and the children are nestled in bed fast asleep, she tucks away her pots and broom and like Cinderella she transforms.
Her characters creep forth from the dark recesses of her mind taking their places in the castles and forests built from her words. No simpering heroines linger there with forlorn gazes turned to the horizon, waiting for their Prince Charming. They straighten their spine, arming themselves with blade and bow, prepared to do their part in defense of their honor and destiny. She breathes life into the women she believes our ancestors to be, showing how they lived and loved with passion and grace.
Never bored by the tales still left to tell, she battles the ever sarcastic muse in her quest for romance.
