Book Giveaway:

THE BEST MAN by Kristan Higgins

SOMETIMES THE BEST MAN IS THE ONE YOU LEAST EXPECT...

Faith Holland left her hometown after being jilted at the altar. Now a little older and wiser, she’s ready to return to the Blue Heron Winery, her family’s vineyard, to confront the ghosts of her past, and maybe enjoy a glass of red. After all, there’s some great scenery there....

Like Levi Cooper, the local police chief—and best friend of her former fiancĂ©. There’s a lot about Levi that Faith never noticed, and it’s not just those deep green eyes. The only catch is she’s having a hard time forgetting that he helped ruin her wedding all those years ago. If she can find a minute amidst all her family drama to stop and smell the rosĂ©, she just might find a reason to stay at Blue Heron, and finish that walk down the aisle.

This sounds like an interesting story. Did you ever resist doing something because you were scared of the idea, but once you took the plunge and did it, then it turned out to be the best thing you ever did?

This past summer we hiked The Subway and The Narrows (ZION) and several other off the beaten paths of parks in Utah. I survived! Now I want to go back and hike other parks in many of our states!

I sure did something that was scary for me. I moved away from my parents and family and friends to a new city for my job and I was in my 40's. I had never been more than a few minutes away from them at any given time. Then I moved over an hours car ride from them. It was a big step for me... But it worked out great. I love the small city where I live. I fit in quite comfortable... It was very brave for me to do this.

I always like to bike with my firends but one day we decided to try mountain-biking. It was a scary experience especially when it felt like I would fall over or when the path got really narrow. I can't say I'll do it often but it was a thrill and I am glad I did try it. If I do do it again it would be not on a rainy or freshly rained on soil, like I first did!

I have to admit that up until I was 18 I had a terrible fear of heights since I fell off some stacked chairs when I was a kid. Due to this fear, I hated amusement parks since a majority of the rides involved being suspended in the air somehow. However, after taking a stage craft class and having to climb multiple ladders to access the theater's lights on the catwalk, I'm less nervous with heights and am able to do crazy things like skydiving and enjoying those roller coasters without having a death grip on the bar.
