Happy Leap Day!
Leap Day is known for (among other things) as the one day when a woman can ask a man to marry her. As a reader of romance, I don't think I've ever read a romance where the woman asked the man to for his hand in marriage.
To celebrate the day this week, I'm giving away to one lucky wimner a $10 Amazon giftcard.
To enter, I have a question for readers...do you know any book where the heroine asks the man to marry her? If you don't that is fine, you can still enter.
One entry per person. Winner to be announced later this week.

The only book I can think of right now is Lisa Kleypas' "Devil in Winter." Evie asks St. Vincent to marry her.
I was also thinking of "Devil in Winter", but I'm sure there are more marriage of convenience stories like that.
Happy Leap Day!
I can't think of a book. Usually the guy does the asking.
I have read a few but cannot remember what the titles were. Sorry.

I know I've read some but I can't think of the titles right now.
I also was thinking of Lisa Kleypas' Devil in Winter. :)
I don't believe I have ever read a romance where the heroine proposed to the hero. I would love to see that happen.

I've read one or two like that but I can't remember the titles of the books.

There was one I just read recently where the woman asked the hero to marry her, just can't remember the title off hand.
Then there is also Elizabeth Hoyt's To Seduce a Sinner, and Shadow's Stand by Sarah McCarty. I know the heroine's definitely asked the men to marry them in these historical romances...I just wish I could remember the title of the more recent book I read...now it's going to bug me :)
I don't think they are as uncommon as you might think.
I know I have come across many stories where the heroine aks the hero to marry her but none specifically comes to mind. Another commenter mentioned Devil In Winter, which I've read but don't recall :)
I can't think of a book where the heroine asked the hero to marry her.
Hoyt's To Seduce a Sinner and Kleypas's Devil in Winter are what I thought of first. Those are some gusty heroines, right at the start of the book.
A current book (unnamed here--don't want to spoil it) features the heroine successfully asking the hero to marry her--after the hero unsuccessfully asked her earlier in the book.
One of my favorites is Promises Linger by Sarah McCarty.

I know I have read a couple of stories where the woman proposed but I don't remember exactly which ones.
I have come across a few in my day, but I can't think of any titles off the top of my head...
Happy Leap Day..
Good question.I don't remember if I have.None seem to pop up in my mind so maybe not.lol.
Another - THe Marriage Spell by Mary Jo Putney. Heroine asks hero to marry her as price of healing him with her magic (she's long been in love with him)
Can't think of one, happy leap year all, never heard of that lol, thanks for the great prize,

weird, I'm signed in but blog will only uses Anonymous
I also read the Kleypas and Hoyt. I wonder if there is a list somewhere of more titles.
Oh, yes--Devil in Winter :) That's one of my favorites... There have been a few others, though mostly out of convenience. And in Nora Roberts' Lawless, the heroine does chase the hero down to give him a solid smack upside the head ;)
I recall some of the plots which lead to this happening. But, I can't remember the title of any of the books, sorry!
Not that I know of, but sounds like I should check out Devil in Winter huh?
I'm thinking of Devil in Winter too but I'm sure there are others. Thanks for the giveaway!
I'm horrible at remembering titles, sorry! Thanks for the chance.
A book that I remember where the heroine asks the guy to marry her is Rock Hard by Olivia Cunning, a contemporary erotic romance.
