Well I'm kind of prejudiced being from Missouri, but Branson Missouri is a great place to go in the summer. They usually have something going on like World Fest and it's a lot of fun. It's in the Ozark mountains and near a lake. You can see a lot of music shows and there are outlet malls there. They really have something for everyone.

Disneyworld!!! I know, maybe I'm a little old for it.. but I've been so many times, I know the best times of the day to hit what rides, where to go to eat, what rides I can skip, etc. Plus, I love the resorts, especially the themed ones.

Cool giveaway!

Sadly I have never actually gone anywhere for summer vacation, but I live near Virginia Beach which is a vacation spot so I guess that counts :)

I'm with Linda. I'm from N.W. Missouri and we too love Branson; It's one is our favorite place to go when you have a limited amount of time or money. There's a place just south of Silver Dollar City where we like to go. The guys fish and us girls shop, swim or just enjoy the beautiful scenery. It's so pretty. At times, it's so beautiful it can make you cry.

I haven't traveled much but I had a great time in Las Vegas. I stayed at the end of the strip so it wasn't crazy crowed, saw a great show and just had a relaxing time. Yup that's right I said relaxing and Vegas in the same sentence :-)

A not-too-touristy stretch of gorgeous beach in a town called Progreso in Mexico -- but I haven't been there for too many years.

Well I stopped travelling the last couple of years so my current fave summer spot is right here @ home in Ottawa.

My fave travel vacation spot in the summer has to be Martha's Vineyard... I loved it! Gorgeous beaches and plenty of shade to curl up and catch up on reading.

*hugs*

Definitely Hawaii. It's been a few years since I've visited, but I hope we'll get to go this summer.

I've learned that it's not always where you're at but who you're with! Our whole family loves the beach or lake; anywhere they can do water sports. Since our oldest is in college, it's just great when our whole family can be together.

My favorite summer vacation spot is right here at home. I live 20 miles inland from the Pacific Ocean and some great beaches.

I can't afford to take vacations except for once in a blue moon. But one of the most memorable (of the 4 vacations I've taken in 40 years of living) was Disney World. So many things to do and see. Everyone is so nice and takes such good care of you. You can practically live there and never have a care in the world.

I would pick colonial Williamsburg.

I haven't travelled that much either but I would pick Sydney, Australia.

The Sdney Opera House was a sight to see, the water was nice, clear and blue and the air was fresh and breezy.

I haven't been on vacation in what seems like forever! Right now I would die to be in a climate with warm clear blue waters. A breeze, sounds of the sea, a cabana boy brining me tropical drinks and a whole stack of steamy summer reads!

Ok my totally loser answer? HOME ALONE WITH NOBODY TO DISTURB ME. A/C on if needed of course, and a stocked fridge so I'd only have to leave if I wanted to.
Otherwise... well the usual spots of DC and NYC would suffice nicely. :)

I love going to whats called Alexandra Bay, 1000 Islands in northern NY. Its so beautiful there around the waters and so much breeze and cool when needing to cool off there. They have boat rides that go to one of the islands that has a castle on it! This castle began to be built by a man who loved his wife and promised her a huge home. She died when he was building it. I had visited there when it was 'ruins' and now they finished his dream and its complete! I so can't wait to go visit it again!

Love to get away to the shore, relax all day, in and out of the water in between reading and people-watching. We try to get away every summer to Rhode Island for at least a week. Always have fun, not a far drive, and other family and friends are liable to show up at any time.
