Volume 1, Issue 2 , January 2010

Well, 2010 is certainly off to a chilly start, at least in the U.S. Freezing temperatures back east are keeping people cooped up and hopefully reading a good book. While we aren’t freezing – the West coast is chilly this year. Damp, gray and cold, but no rain … at least in this neck of the woods. Since it’s too cold to do much outside that isn’t necessary I’ve decided now is a good time to add to my TBR (to be read) pile. Not that I need anything else on it – but hey a girl can never be too rich, too thin or have too many books. And since rich and thin are elusive things – I’ll dive right into the books. So far just from what staff has submitted reviews on I already have (blank) books to add to my shopping list: JANE BITE’S BACK by Michael Thomas Ford. Now I have to admit when this came in I was not too sure about it – but after reading Robin’s spectacular review – it’s on my list for the month. DUTY, DESIRE AND THE DESERT KING by Jane Porter. Okay Sheikh books are not my thing – but I adore Porter’s work and Deborah’s review convinced me to give this Desert Sheikh a try J
THE TEMPTATION OF THE NIGHT JASMINE and THE BETRAYAL OF THE BLOOD LILY by Lauren Willig. Normally historical non –romance don’t interest me, but both of these books sound intriguing – and I do enjoy a good mystery – so I’m adding them to my list. CHALICE OF THE ROSES, an anthology with some of my very favorite authors; Jo Beverley, Mary Jo Putney, Karen Harbaugh and Barbara Samuels. I love anthologies they are perfect reads for when you don’t have time to read an entire book but can set aside time for a short story. And with these four authors writing – any single one is sure to be a winner. And it goes without saying that BLOOD SINS by Kay Hooper and STREET GAMES by Christine Feehan are on that shopping list – I never miss books by either of these top notch authors.
So, while I’m curled up with hot chocolate, a blanket and a stack of good books, what will you be reading?
