Welcome to the RRT Blog's Anniversary!

PhotobucketBack in 2006, I started up the RRT Blog as a way to generate promo for Romance Reviews Today and RRTErotic. It was never intended to overshadow the review sites, nor to be something controversial. To that extent, this has been successful. Now, three years later, we are still up and running, despite the trend of blogs closing down.

In honor of our three year anniversary, I'm giving away a $25 egiftcard to the winner's choice of BN, Amazon or Fictionwise. The contest is open through 10/31/09 and the winner announced shortly thereafter.
One entry per person and no anonymous postings.

How do you enter? Easy - answer this question:

Has your reading tastes changed in the past three years? If so, how?

Good luck to all of you who enter. :)

Congratualtions !!
Happy anniversary ;-)

My tastes have changed a bit, not so much. I still love straight contemporaries and historicals like I used to. But it has broaden considerably. I've discovered some great category romance authors and even tried some young adult romance. I'm not yet ready for paranormals but who knows ? Maybe in three years ... ;-)

Hey, happy anniversary! That's fantastic. :)

My taste has shifted a bit in the past 3 years. I read less paranormal romances (though I do still like them -- just started feeling "burned out") and I've started reading a few in the romantic suspense category. I'm still mostly reading contemporaries and historicals, the spicier the better.

I've discovered that I really like humor in writing. I'm trying new authors, discovering great talent. I'm actually getting away from autobuying the 80's superstar writers.

I like historicals, catagories, contemps, and romantic suspense.
I liked the Twilight series, but I only read paranormals in small doses. I like some of the more erotic books. I still don't like the horror writers.

Happy Anniversary. My reading tastes haven't changed that much, but I am reading more paranormals. I read mostly romantic suspense and historicals.

Congratulations! Happy Anniversary!
I am now reading more than ever! My reading world has expanded greatly thanks to the internet. I enjoy perusing the websites of reviewers, bloggers, authors and publishers. I have learned so much about the unlimited reading choices available in print and e-books! I consider my books to be my treasures. I loved to read a lot as a child. When I grew up and entered into the work world and had family responsibilites, I had less time to read. Now, I have come full circle, and read several books a week. Sometimes, I read two or three in a day on the weekends!

My reading tastes have definitely changed in the last three years...for better and for worse.

I used to only read regency historicals and was happy. Now I read all types of romances and as a result my TBR pile is out of control!!! I used to be able to keep up with the authors that I loved and now find it hard to do so because that list is so much larger than it used to be. As a result I have to become more choosy when picking up a book by either a new author, or one I used to read. Like I said for better and for worse:) Congrats on three years!!!!

Happy Anniversary!

There was a time I read all vampires, all the time. Now, I'm reading more mysteries, historical romances and sci-fi novels.

Wow, have I missed out on a lot of great books!

Thanks,

Congratulations & Happy Anniversary! The past three years have gone by quickly and I hope you are around for many more.

My reading tastes really haven't changed much. I read primarily historical romances. I love the Regency era as well as American Revolution, American Antebellum & Civil War periods and English & American Victorian periods. I occasionally mix in a mystery/suspense/thriller if a good one comes along.

Happy anniversary!

Oh yeah, my reading tastes have definitely changed. Heck, they've changed in the last six months. :) I'm still reading a lot of urban fantasy/paranormal romance, but now I'm reading as much (if not more) m/m romance.

My reading tastes haven't really changed. I was leaning towards spicy reads in paranormal and urban fantasy. Though I love romance in general, I still lean towards Paranormal/Urban Fantasy.

My reading hasn't really changed much as I'm a big fan of Paranormal! I'm always looking for new author and series in that genre!

Happy Anniversary, and I hope you celebrate many many more!

I don't think my reading tastes have changed in the past years, but I do find myself reading more than I used to. I became a reviewer and it opened up a world of authors I would have never heard about except on our review board.

Congratulations on your Anniversary! I am a new follower of your blog as of today :)

Oh yes, my reading habits have changed. I love reading all different kinds of books, but my new found favorites are erotica, BDSM, m/m...the darker the better it seems. Something a little edgy is what I am into right now :)

Congrats on the anniversary!!

Hmm, reading tastes.. I would say my tastes have become more... varied. I used to read paranormal romance, JUST paranormal romance, with maybe a contemporary every so often. Now I read mysteries (sometimes), contemporaries, historicals, westerns, erotica, paranormal romance, fantasy, sci fi..

Geez! Hard to keep track of them all..

Thanks!

My book taste has gone from non-fiction to fiction to romance and now YA. I think it takes me at least a year or two to change so its not a daily thing.

My reading has changed a tad in 3 years. I like to read more paranormal, erotica type now. Also I am not as into historical as I had been. But doesn't mean I don't read them, just not as much. ;)

My reading tastes have changed in the last 3 years. While I still prefer paranormal stories, I now prefer erotica and even m/m stories. The one thing that hasn't changed in the last 3 years is that I need a good story with a great love story. Those are the ones that go on my keeper shelf.

Not a lot. I'm still reading paranormal, though I have gravitated to young adult lately.

Congratulations and thanks for sharing your anniversary with us. I've been a huge paranormal romance fan now for about 10 years, and with all the interesting genres available, I haven't grown tired of these stories yet.

The one thing that has changed a bit, is that I now read more romantic suspense stories than I used to, and for the same reason. So many new-to-me authors that I keep coming across at blogs or group chats, with great writing styles and storylines that peak my interest.

As for my reading tastes... er... I don't think they've changed too much in the past few years. I guess I read... maybe more erotic romance now than I did before? Otherwise I still read contemporary, historical, paranormal romances, etc.

The biggest change in the last 3 years is that I retired, so now I am able to do a great deal more reading. It's wonderful!

Happy anniversary, RRT! Yes, I think I've expanded my reading horizons, and my TBR is bigger than ever :) It can definitely crush me now, whereas before, I think it might have only dinged me ;) Thanks for helping it grow!

Hi, I think that my reading habit have changed since I acquired an e-reader. Yes, I am one of those folks that is shy about reading romance novels. So I have been reading a lot more romance because I can just buy the book I want in ebook format! I no longer shy away from books with racier covers. Plus, in the past my TBR pile would overwhelm me, and one look at it might halt an impulse trip to the bookstore...any now my TBR pile is safely stored on my Sony Reader.
So I am more likely to log on at 3am and make an impulse buy.

Hi,

I find I have become sated with contemporary romance and am falling back to reading more Historicals and Regency books.

I think this may be because of the bad economic climate at present which makes happy contemporary books just seems too much like fantasy !

I think my reading has changed a bit. I still love my regencies, but I have added a lot more paranormal. I have also begun to read more in eformat which was a bit different at first. This was in an effort to control space. But nothing still compares to the feel of a book.

Happy Anniversary!!! I think my taste have expanded so much more, rather than changed! Now there's so much more I love to read, more genres within romance like fantasy romance and especially paranormal romance. Plus finding more authors to read and different publishers, including the small publishers had me realizing how many more great authors out there I missed So its definitely opened me up to so much more now. I still read the genres I used to, so its not changed but more reads!

Pam P said...

Happy Anniversary! I still read what I read 3 years ago. Only change I'd say is that I find myself picking up a bit more fantasy, even if not classified in the romance genre.
