Book Giveaway: MacKenzie's Legacy by Linda Howard

Book blurb:

Mackenzie's Mountain

Mary Elizabeth Potter is a self-appointed spinster with no illusions about love. When she meets Wolf Mackenzie, a man with a chip on his shoulder the size of Wyoming, she sets out to convince the whole town he's a man worth loving. But Wolf's not sure he's for the taming of Wolf Mackenzie.

Mackenzie's Mission

Night Wing—the revolutionary test plane with a top secret weapons system—is Colonel Joe "Breed" Mackenzie's number one priority—and weapons expert Caroline Evans his number one distraction. When someone on the inside sabotages Night Wing, Caroline's late hours and expertise come under suspicion, forcing Joe to choose between allegiance to his country…and love for his prime suspect.

Well, I had fun! I just relaxed and enjoyed the day. I had my big Halloween candy bowl full of chocolate treats. This year I stuck a little stuffed toy black cat in the bowl to help me give out the candy. The kids loved that! My own pet cats always draw lots of comments from the kiddies. The cutest trick-or-treater was an adorable pixie-style witch about three years old. Her mom took a picture of her accepting her treat from me. After the trick-or-treating, I prepared our traditional Halloween treat: hot chocolate with lots of marshmallows and a big bowl of buttered salty popcorn. It's that sweet & salty thing! I then settled down to read HOW TO CATCH AND KEEP A VAMPIRE, just in case an attractive VAMP happened by!!!

I got my kids ready to go out with my husband, then I stayed home and passed out candy. My daughter only lasted about 20 minutes because it was cold. Then we went to my mom's, and my aunt's for them to get some extra special treats! Then we went to a Halloween Party with some friends. It was a fun night!

My girlfriend comes over every year with her husband and kids and we take turns walking around the neighborhood with them and handing out candy. Afterwards we order pizza and watch a scary movie.

My halloween was spent answering the door and handing out candy while my kids were at different parties. Love to see the kids in costume. I did watch Scooby Doo (which I think is perfect for Halloween) and then NCIS. I am not big on scary or horror movies.

I spent my halloween watching scary movies with a group of friends. I dont usually enjoy scary movies that much but all in the spirit of halloween, I made an exception.

I spent the evening with family. My daughters brought my grandkids by so I could see them in their costumes. I spent the rest of the evening watching scary movies and reading a paranormal book.

Hubby took the kids out trick or treating while I stayed home to hand out treats. Then later we went to one of the local churches fall festivals which was so much fun.

I spent Halloween watching movies! Doesn't really sound exciting, but to a movie junkie like me, its a dream :)

I spent a leisurely Halloween with coffee and pastries with the kids, decorated the rest of the yard, filled the big bowl with candy and then got the kids ready for their neighborhood trek.

It was a cool and quiet evening, and I got to finish reading THE SPY WHO WANTS by Lucy Monroe in between the groups of kids. Oh, I dressed as a witch, my favorite costume!! Later, DH and I celebrated with some Margaritas. Yum.

Linda Howard was one of the first authors whose books I fell in love with.

Halloween, I had to work as a cashier until 10 PM too tired to go out afterwards.

Just the usual ;-) Trick or treated with the kid (8), her two friends (7 & 3), and it was hot, and they got scared at a haunted house, and they ate too much sugar and collapsed ;-)

When I was younger, I used to go to Greenwich Village in NYC and watch the parade. SO FUN!!! I suspect it's tamer now than it was in the 80s, though ;-)

Hope you had a good one!
