SURRENDER OF A SIREN by Tessa Dare
Out Now!
Available at most bookstores.

Blurb:

Desperate to escape a loveless marriage and society’s constraints, pampered heiress Sophia Hathaway jilts her groom, packs up her paints and sketchbook, and assumes a new identity, posing as a governess to secure passage on the Aphrodite. She wants a life of her own: unsheltered, unconventional, uninhibited. But it’s one thing to sketch all her wildest, most wanton fantasies, and quite another to face the dangerously handsome libertine who would steal both her virtue and her gold.

To any well-bred lady, Benedict “Gray” Grayson is trouble in snug-fitting boots. A conscienceless scoundrel who sails the seas for pleasure and profit, Gray lives for conquest—until Sophia’s perception and artistry stir his heart. Suddenly, he’ll brave sharks, fire, storm, and sea just to keep her at his side. She’s beautiful, refined, and ripe for seduction. Could this counterfeit governess be a rogue’s redemption? Or will the runaway heiress’s secrets destroy their only chance at love?

Yes I have...usually every February my pals and I take a short trip to escape the cold! February weather is brutal where I live. We get a bad case of cabin fever...

I still live at home with my Mother. However, also in our house is my aunt and my grandfather. Well, every so often, Mom and I leave for a weekend, usually just stay over in a small hotel for a night, maybe go shopping, but it gets us out of the house, and we can go spend some time together without everyone yelling at us, at each other, whatever else. I consider that running away!

I have never run away from home but there have been times when it's been tempting especially when my kids were little and teething.

I've never escaped on my own just to go on an adventure..

In college, I left weekends to visit friends who attended different colleges or who worked in different cities.

My husband and I escaped from our then young children, when my in-laws volunteered to take them for a long weekend, once for a whole week. I'm going to do that for my kids when I get some grandchildren!

Now that I have 3 in college, I'm an emptynester and no longer need to escape!!

On my first job--which was about 2000 miles away from home, I traded shifts so I'd have enough time to go home for a visit. I guess I ran away from where I was living.

My sister and I usually get together and go somewhere at least once a week. I'm divorced so I don't have anyone to escape from. Her husband just retired and is home with her all the time. She needs an escape on occasion.

Nope, I've never run away from home but as a kid of maybe 8 or 9, I would sort of disappear into the woods near my home for a few hours every once in a while...even a kid needs to 'get away from it all' for a bit of attitude adjustment! I think that is really when I developed my enjoyment of reading because quite often, I would take a book with me and just sit under a tree and read.

Hubby and I drop the kids off at my mom's house once a year for our anniversary in June to run away for a few days.

Can't say I have ever ran away from home. But I do like to get away when I can, esp to our camp/cabin its so quiet and relaxing there. :)

:) I ran away one time...just was tired and ready for a weekend..drove 3 hours and just spent time away. It was completely spontaneous but a lot of fun. Don't know if I would do it again, considering how many responsibilities I have now, but it was a good time for me then. :D

I an only think of ONE time in my life that I escaped by myself for an overnight. I'm too much of a people person and like being around people, but I had a good time when I left. I drove through Amish country, saw farmers cut tobacco, and listened to the radio REALLY loud. A great time.

One time by DH suggested I take a weekend by myself away from the family. I had that frenzied, stressed-out look for weeks. So I booked a room in a hotel at a nearby town that is known for its shops and restaurants. Took enough books with me, read by the pool during the day, and went to dinner theatre. Now thats how to run away from home!

I did back when I was 15 and it broke my Mom's heart so I never did it again, I was talked into it by a girl I barely knew so I thought it would be great but it wasn't.

Would living away from hubbie and baby daughter for one year in Dubai consist of a sort of running away. Was miserable throughout!

Not yet! Although it's a lovely fantasy, especially if I can manage to haul some of my TBR with me! :)
