Book Giveaway: NIGHT OF THE HAWK by Vonna Harper

Warning: this is a really hot book :)

From Kensington Aphrodisia and is out now. Here's a blurb:

Night of the Hawk

Reporter Smokey Powers has come to a small Oregon town to investigate a developer’s disappearance. But from the moment she wanders into a local art gallery, she’s captivated by a stunning photograph of a hawk in flight–and by her urgent need to meet the photographer, to touch him–to know him.

When Smokey comes face-to-face with Mato Hawk, a member of a local tribe, his masculinity overwhelms her. For once, this ambitious career woman is learning what it means to submit in every way. Again and again Mato takes her to the brink of release, becoming more dominant and demanding, awakening every inch of her body to pure sensation until she’s never felt more alive–or less in control.

Seduction was a way for Mato to stop Smokey from jeopardizing his people’s land with her investigation. Now their desire has become an unstoppable force that’s wild, risky, and deliciously unpredictable.

I prefer quiet while I read. No distractions!

Absolutely not! I am a total immersion girl. When I read a book I like to devote all of my attention to it and get swept away to the world I am reading.

I guess I am too aware of other things around me and get distracted when listening to music or watching TV, and at the back of my mind I am still processing what is going on so reading is not as enjoyable. Reading time it total ME time, so I enjoy every second of it :)

I usually sit in the living room and read and yes there are 400 other things going on around me between 3 kids, 2 dogs, a cat and my DH. but I still manage to block them all out for a good book

The tv is usually on when I am reading but my attention is mainly on the book I am reading.

I sometimes watch tv when I'm reading. I've listened to audiobooks while cleaning or being on the computer.

I usually like it quiet, but for the most part I read in my recliner in the living room while my girls are watching TV. I find that reading is the perfect way to tune out the Disney Channel. A mom can only take so much Hannah Montana!

I almost always have the TV on at the same time.

I always have to keep 1 1/2 eyes on my son while reading. :)

Although I love nice and quiet to read my books, I still have young ones in the house that always know when I sit to read. So there are always constant interruptions. Therefore, the need to escape nightly in my bathtub at night with the door locked...aahhh.

I just read---no music and no tv!

I prefer the quiet too, usually in my room with the door closed, so I can just immerse myself in the story.

I really can't do anything when I'm reading...any noise distracts me and I can't focus on my reading so I prefer quietness when I'm reading.

I don't like to read while listening to music or watching tv as it takes away my attention from reading. Peace and quiet for me!

Oye! I have to have complete silence when I read. I often go to bed around 9 or so and read for hours and hours or I wake up early and read for hours. I need total concentration...I'm a nerd like that. If there's music or other things though, I just can't concentrate!

CONGRATULATIONS!!

It really depends on the book. If it's taking me a while to get into it, I need total peace and quiet when I read. But if it's a book I'm immediately pulled into, I'll sit on my couch and read with the television on.

:) I could read in a hurricane I think. TV, kids, dogs barking..I can zone it all out with no problems!

I don't like to read with the TV on, but I can handle music in the background. I can also tune everyone out if the story is good. I like to read at the pool or the beach, even if there are lots of people all around.

My preference is just quiet, not even the fan on!

I must have the television on, I love the white noise. At night I don't read with it on, but on the couch I will.

The only time I seem to have peace is during my commute, so I read then. Crazy dangerous - but gets the blood pumping so I am psyched for work! :)

Normally the TV is on, but not by my choice :) Either the kids are watching cartoons, or my husband is watching sports. I would prefer the quiet though. I read mostly in the bath tub at night...when it is my time to relax! :)

Thanks,

I prefer quiet so I wait until the evening when the kids are in bed so I can savor the story to the fullest.

My preference is a nice quite place with no distrations. But since I travel for work quite a bit, I've learned I can read just about any where, any time.
