My national holiday would be Canada day...so I am not sure if I qualify or not ;) BUT I am thankful that I am employed, that I have a roof over my head, groceries in my fridge, kitties who purr, a husband who loves me, and books, books, and more books.

I am thankful for the freedom of speech that we can read and purchase any books we want. I traveled to the middle east while in college and became very appreciative of the freedom of the press and speech we have in the US.

I'm thankful to live in a country where we can take our freedom and rights for granted (not that we should) and where as a woman we have a quality of life that I'm very grateful for.

I have a lot to be thankful for and will probably forget to include many of things here but will just name a few that come to mind.
I am thankful for the men and women who serve our country, freedom, being able to stay at home and raise my child, that hubby still has a job (for now) as we never know with this economy, for family & friends, and to be an American and last but not least books.
