I try to pick up a few gifts every time I'm out shopping. I was already done shopping this year at this time, so I'm a bit behind.

I'm searching the internet for some new recipes to add to the usual turkey dinner. And I'm getting out the X-mas CDs to get into the X-mas spirit.

Right now I'm just getting ready for Thanksgiving!. I'm picking my 84yo Mom up at the airport on sunday. Then 3 sons are coming home from college tuesday, wednesday & friday. Oldest son's birthday is on saturday. After this , I will finally start to tackle christmas. I have to take holidays one at a time.

Travel reservations are made. Lists of 'things to take with me' are done. I still have a couple more gifts to buy and I'm done with shopping. Now I only need to wrap them and write out cards.

I have heard that this book is great! I love reading Christmas books, and I have already started reading them for this year.

I have also started shopping for gifts and taking advantage of sales. Decorating will come later.

I can't seem to prepare myself for Christmas. I'm just not particularly in the holiday spirit. The economy and my finances has got me too depressed.

I'm trying to think of ideas for things I/we can make for gifts for most of our family members, instead of just spending money.

To prepare for Christmas... well for the first time in my life I think I already have most my gifts bought (for others) - except my mom. So, that's excellent. I plan on reading a LOT, relaxing, ignoring a lot of work :X and... job searching. *cringe*
Ah well. I'm also house/dog sitting for a friend/professor (of my sister, lol - a complicated relationship there). But I'm looking forward to it! (I know that's not all Christmas stuff, but it's what I plan/hope to do.)

Also, I COVET this book! Eek. Good luck everyone!

Checking with the nieces and nephews now to see what's on their wishlist, need to start shopping. One likes fantasy books, so ordering one for him tonight. Day after Thanksgiving if I'm in the mood, might start some Christmas decorating, I like to start earlier and keep it all out for awhile after spending the time doing it, and a lot fits in with winter anyway, like my snowmen collection.
